Wash shrimp and clean by de-veining (if
necessary - some come cleaning already).
Cut onions length-wise after removing
skins. Quarter each half to provide large onion peal layers.
In a shallow pie dish, empty fry mix,
pepper, Paparika, Old Bay Seasoning, garlic powder, salt and cajun
seasoning. Mix very well and slowly add water stirring until the
mixture has a somewhat thick consistency that will stick to the shrimp.
Start adding to the skewer with shrimp,
then onion alternating. You should be able to put 3 or 4 shrimp on a
skewer making sure the skewer will fit in your pan. You decide how much
onion to add between the shrimp.
Add oil to a large skillet and heat to
medium.
Give the shrimp-onion skewer a good
bath in the mixture and let excess fall off before placing in the heated
oil. Cook until golden brown turning occasionally.
Place on paper towels to drain excess
oil
Note: Add extra pepper or Cajun
seasonings to bring out that "Naw leans" flavor.
